Novotechnik: Openair® plasma –
Prerequisite for reliable position transducers and rotary sensor systems

Novotechnik is a leading manufacturer of high-grade potentiometric position transducers and rotary sensors. Our sensors are used in particular in automotive and mechanical engineering. These applications require high precision and reliability over a long period of use. Especially in automotive engineering our sensors are used throughout the world and have proved reliable a million times over. High throughput in production and a strong sense of quality among our staff are the key factors here for securing our leading position in this market now and in the future.

A milestone on this pathway was the use of Openair® plasma in the production of our sensors. Using the Plasmatreat process we clean and activate the surfaces of our printed circuit boards before coating them by the screen printing process. We have no problems of adhesion with our coatings. The Openair® process is highly effective, fast and hence low in cost. At the same time one Plasmatreat installation suffices for handling several screen printing lines. The system operates with great reliability and has low susceptibility to failure. Accordingly, it has high availability for the continuous production of our sensors.

Thanks to Openair® plasma our coatings adhere reliably to the substrate. This is an important precondition for the reliability of our sensors in use. We make our living from this. Sensors from Novotechnik and Plasmatreat – a good choice.
