Services

We provide the services to help you capitalize on the power of plasma - and then ensure unfailing productivity.

We pioneered the use of atmospheric plasma in manufacturing and are clear market leaders in the application of this technology, particularly its use on high volume production lines. We have the largest, most experienced team of materials technologists and process engineers in the industry and run a number of research and development facilities around the world.

To promote the technology and help our customers become more profitable we offer a range of services, including:

  • Research and development
  • Testing and small run capability
  • Preventative maintenance and rapid service
  • Consulting

Plasmatreat offers the most sophisticated development expertise in the world.

From the start we have been developing systems that have been used in industries such as printing, automotive and household goods manufacturing, where extreme reliability is often essential. Consequently we have become experts in surface functionalization on high throughput lines. Additionally we have developed knowledge of the many different substrates, adhesives and coatings, and know which are the best for various applications. We work with many of the best suppliers in the world and have favorable relations with them so we can help you utilize their products and expertise. The same applies to robotics and instrumentation manufacturers. We can advise you on the best technologies for each situation to ensure the final production line meets your requirements for reliability and quality.

If you are experiencing problems concerning printing, bonding, coating or surface preparation and would like them solved please call us. No matter how unusual the material and the process at least one of our team is likely to have had some relevant experience or at least we will know how to find answers.

Full testing and small run capability

If you have a material and would like to test the effect of Openair® plasma, please send it to us. We can test how it responds to treatment with plasma and can measure surface tension and bond strengths.

If you wish to test the surface tension of materials yourself you can use the Plasmatreat test kit, which can be ordered online here. We can discuss the results and their implications.

In our laboratories we have computer controlled test stations that measure the effect that nozzle distance and process speed have on surface activation. The test station is called A4-3001 and it graphs the relationship between the three parameters which is then graphed on a 3D XYZ graph. All we need is a sample of your material up to 8 1/2" x 11". This graph enables us to optimize the production process for your particular material and application.

We also have a web facility that can test the effectiveness of Openair® plasma on rolls of plastic, foil and fabric, on one or both sides, in widths up to 19" and at speeds of up to 1200 feet/minute.

Our service and maintenance are designed for sophisticated production lines that have to be extremely reliable.

We have a team of engineers who perform scheduled maintenance, and in the event of a breakdown we respond rapidly. Since 1995 we have been relied upon by some of the largest automated production line manufacturers in the world, and maintaining a high level of reliability is a key aspect of our value proposition.

Our consulting services

The application of plasma technology is still relatively new in industry and consequently there is a shortage of experts who are familiar with its complexities. In some cases, where our equipment does not offer the best solution for a specific customer problem, we are nonetheless able to offer our services for an hourly fee, plus expenses. We can give you advice on the advantages and disadvantages of the different forms of plasma technologies. As well you can benefit from our experience, knowledge and network of resources. Please call if you are interested in this service.
