Nowadays, the demand for environmentally friendly solutions to modify surfaces is growing steadily stronger. On the one hand, new products in the automotive and electric vehicle (EV) sectors are entering the market and require new ways of thinking in the development of green alternative processes. On the other hand, the electronic sector is also driven by the various industries that demand higher efficiency, performance and lower weight, which also requires optimized processes to meet more and more demands.

In this PlasmaTalk, innovative processes known as Plasma Fine Powder Coating (FPC) and Plasma Wire Feeder Coating (WFC) will be introduced and described as green alternatives to provide additional properties to a polymer, metal or glass surface. Both presented processes enable the deposition of a metallic layer on the surface of parts without affecting the mechanical properties of the substrate in comparison with thermal spraying processes.

Attend this PlasmaTalk presented by Dr. Jörg Ihde, Group Manager Atmospheric Plasma technology and surfaces at the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials, and Dr. Dhia Ben Salem, Research Group Leader at Plasmatreat, and learn more about the possibilities of plasma metallization processes and give an overview of possible industrial applications.

Our PlasmaTalk about “The Power of Fine Powder Coating and Particle Deposition“ covers:

  • Explanation of the Fine Powder Coating technology
  • The cold plasma process
  • The metals that can be used e.g., copper, zinc, titan, silver
  • The advantages like selective treatment, small lots industrialized inline treatment
  • How FPC enables perfectly conductive products
  • Explanation of the Plasma Wire Feeder Coating technology
  • The insitu-generation of metallic nano-particles
  • The metals that can be used e.g., copper, silver, palladium etc.
  • The advantages compared to wet-chemical process
  • Diversified overview and examples of applications

This no-charge PlasmaTalk is aimed at research, development and quality control personnel as well as designers and process engineers in industrial processes.

The PlasmaTalk will last approximately 60-80 minutes plus a question-and-answer session. If you have a specific question, please send it in advance to academy@plasmatreat.de so that we can incorporate it into the program.
