True to the motto “Donations instead of gifts”, this year Plasmatreat GmbH has presented 5,500 euros to HandanHand, Elterninitiative krebskranker Kinder e.V., an initiative set up by parents of children with cancer. The company donated 5 euros for every Christmas card it sent.

Founded in 1995, the charity funds a number of projects for sick children on the cancer ward of the Bielefeld-Bethel children’s hospital. For instance, with the aid of donations, the group finances treatments such as ergotherapy (therapeutic physical exercise) and music therapy which are not covered by health insurance. Ergotherapist Vera Flaming speaks enthusiastically about the benefits of her work, which gives the children renewed vitality and a great deal of pleasure. A kitchen for families to use has been installed, and the charity also provides financial assistance to those in special need.

The aim is to give children and parents some time-out from hospital routines, to restore some kind of normality to their lives and to share experiences. Plasmatreat has pledged its support to this worthy cause and wishes all the very best to everyone involved.
