Plasmatreat CEO Christian Buske opened the "15th International Sales and Technology Conference" at the magnificent Bielefelder Hof Hotel in January.
The CEO welcomed the many delegates with a roundup of 2015, which had been an eventful year for Plasmatreat. In its 20th anniversary year, the company was not only named world market leader in its sector; it also received the "Würth Future Champion Award 2015".
Guests from the world of research, industry and commerce as well as around one hundred Plasmatreat sales managers, engineers and technicians from Asia, the USA and throughout Europe attended the conference in Bielefeld. The annual two-day event offers delegates an excellent platform to gather and exchange information about the latest applications and most recent developments for Openair® plasma and PlasmaPlus® technologies on an international stage.
The first day featured lectures given by distinguished speakers, including Chair of Medical Engineering at the Technische Universität München, Prof. Dr. med. Dr.-Ing. habil. Erich Wintermantel.
A doctor, engineer and academic, Prof. Wintermantel focuses mainly on the development of bio-compatible implants as well as medical and polymer engineering. In his speech "Medical and Life Science Engineering – Plasma Options" he demonstrated how atmospheric plasma technology could offer significant potential for applications in medicine and medical engineering in the future.
Talks by other guest speakers covering a wide variety of different application also captured the audience's interest. Speakers from the world of research included Dr. Jörg Ihde and Christian Tornow from the Fraunhofer IFAM in Bremen, Nils Mainusch from the Fraunhofer IST, Christin Rapp from the Institute of Medical Technology at the Technische Universität München and Stefan Kotula from the Institute for Surface Technology at the TU-Braunschweig. Representing industry were Philippe Millioud (Bobst SA Mex VD), Michael Otto (Henkel AG & Co. KGaA), Dr. Nataša Kovačević (Kolektor Group d.o.o.) and Martin Hämmerle (Rampf Polymer Solutions GmbH & Co. KG). The potential applications for microwave plasma – a very special plasma technology – were presented by Dr. Arash Sadeghfam from Heuermann HF-Technik GmbH speaking on behalf of Prof. Dr.-Ing. H. Heuermann (FH Aachen), developer of this technology.
Plasmatreat would like to take this opportunity to thank all the speakers for their outstanding contributions!
