Joining forces to boost battery power

Plasmatreat invests in new US company Intecells

World market leader in atmospheric plasma technology Plasmatreat has announced its investment in the start-up company Intecells. The newly formed company will develop innovative manufacturing processes to improve the performance of battery cells and reduce production costs.

"We want to break free from the constraints of conventional battery design and existing production processes to significantly increase battery performance and make production more efficient", commented CEO and managing partner of Plasmatreat Christian Buske on the launch of Intecells. He went on to explain that new battery technologies were not only of vital importance to the rapidly growing field of electromobility; they would also optimize countless applications in the consumer electronics sector, or even make them feasible in the first place.

Intecells is a joint venture of Plasmatreat and Architected Batteries Unbound LLC (ABU). Dr Shawn Gayden (ABU/CEO Intecells) is convinced that the new company will be in a position to unveil new battery solutions very soon: "We benefit from having close relationships with our customers in the industry. This will enable us to achieve rapid initial commercial success which will shape the future of battery production." Christian Buske and Dr Gayden co- founded the start-up, raising the venture capital from San Francisco-based investor Walden International.
