It’s all a matter of getting the dose right.
Openair® plasma must be metered with utmost precision during the pretreatment of highly sensitive hollow fibers, such as those used in dialysis or blood filters. The plasma density must be sufficiently high to achieve the required level of activation on the outside. At the same time, it is vital to avoid perforating the micrometer-thin wall, as this would make the filters unusable and could harm the patient.
After carefully dosed treatment with Openair® plasma, however, the finished matrix can be safely inserted in the filter housing.
