Plasmatreat has won the 'Würth Future Champion Award 2015', including EUR 10,000 prize money, at this year's Summit of World Market Leaders. The award ceremony took place on 28 January 2015 at a gala dinner in the historic town of Schwäbisch Hall in Germany.
The jury, chaired by management expert Prof. Dr. Bernd Venohr, awards this prize to medium-sized German enterprises which demonstrate rapid and sustainable growth at international level and now rank as global leaders. The panel highlighted Plasmatreat's tremendous spirit of innovation: Investing 12% of its turnover in research and development and with over 90 patents, Plasmatreat is a frontrunner in its field. This is borne out by intensive collaboration with research institutes and universities both at home and abroad. The jury was particularly impressed by the company's international network of branches staffed by highly qualified sales engineers, scientists and technicians. Now a world leader in the development and construction of atmospheric pressure plasma systems, the company has its own subsidiaries in 11 countries on three continents and is currently represented in 34 countries overall.
The company behind the prestigious prize is Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, the leading specialist in the sale and distribution of assembly and fasting materials for professional use. It is the largest individual company in the global Würth Group, which currently consists of over 400 companies in more than 80 countries and has 66,000 employees on its payroll. Joachim Kaltmaier of the Würth Group's Central Management Board presented the prize to Christian Buske, CEO and managing partner of Plasmatreat GmbH. Mr Kaltmaier was delighted by Plasmatreat's above-average sales growth:
"The company has discovered a niche market for atmospheric plasma surface treatment using plasma nozzles and has set global standards. Above-average, annual growth rates in double figures are testimony to their outstanding entrepreneurial spirit."
In receiving the prize Christian Buske said that he considered it a very special tribute to Plasmatreat's past achievements and a great motivation for future developments.
