Openair-Plasma® represents a transformation in industrial surface treatment: powerful, flexible in integration, and simultaneously beneficial for the environment and health. The process optimizes adhesion, enables the use of recycled materials and creates bonds between materials previously considered incompatible.

As a clean alternative, plasma replaces conventional methods such as primer application or flame treatment, thus avoiding the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and the use of flammable gases. This not only makes it easier to comply with legal climate protection requirements – it also makes the working environment safer.

In this PlasmaTalk, Dr. Alexander Knospe, Head of Innovation Management and Patents, explains how the compact Openair-Plasma® technology can be seamlessly integrated into existing production lines, even where space is limited. The result: efficient, environmentally friendly processes that reduce costs and CO₂ emissions.

Openair-Plasma® is therefore not only a response to today's challenges, but also a key to future opportunities – from new material combinations to innovative recycling concepts that combine sustainability and industrial strength.

After participating in this PlasmaTalk, you will learn more about:

• The industrial and sustainable use of Openair-Plasma® in surface modification

• The targeted modification of surface properties to improve adhesion

• The substitution of primers and flame treatment to avoid emissions

• The economic and ecological benefits of CO₂ reduction and efficient process integration

This no-charge PlasmaTalk is aimed at research, development and quality control personnel as well as designers, process engineers and operators of production equipment in industrial processes.

The PlasmaTalk will last approximately 40-60 minutes plus a question-and-answer session. Please note that due to our international audience, we provide the time slot in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). Please check your time zone using the time calculator below (TimeCalc).

If you have a specific question, please send it in advance to academy@plasmatreat.de so that we can incorporate it into the program.

Speaker

Dr. Alexander Knospe

Head of Innovations and Patents

Dr. Alexander Knospe studied chemistry and received his doctorate in 2001 on the synthesis of adhesion promoters for metal bonding. At Plasmatreat he set up an application technology department as well as a research and development department, which he managed until 2015. Today he is responsible for innovation and patents. His main focus is on acquisition of innovative and future-oriented funding projects that open up new application possibilities for plasma technology.
