Smartphones are becoming increasingly important in our society. They are becoming more and more powerful, and the increasing number of functions means that we rarely let them out of our hands. The quality of the cameras plays a crucial role, whether for payment processes or social media activities, even in challenging environmental conditions.

Increasing quality requirements for camera systems, such as higher resolution while at the same time becoming smaller, require very precise production. Meanwhile, there is growing pressure to make the production chain more cost-efficient. The camera systems must be manufactured at low cost, in reproducible processes without rejects, and with high optical precision. The materials used, the surface pretreatment of the components for the subsequent active alignment process of the lenses, and the bonding process itself play a decisive role here. In addition, the already installed electronics must not be damaged in the process.

In this PlasmaTalk, Mr. Dr. Hose (DELO) and Mr. Schüßler (Plasmatreat), will show the possibilities that result from a combination of customized adhesives and Openair-Plasma®. The interaction of a surface pretreatment with plasma and the subsequent selection of the right adhesive can not only achieve a certain functionality, but also increase process reliability and aging resistance.

He has many years of professional experience as sales manager for Plasmatreat Germany and is also responsible for the German branch in the south. As a key account manager, he looks after numerous customers, whom he advises as a specialist in the use of plasma technology in production processes for bonding, printing and coating applications.

Dr. Ralf Hose

Academy Manager and the Surface Pretreatment Specialist

Ralf Hose is Academy Manager and the Surface Pretreatment Specialist at DELO. After completing his diploma in automotive engineering and the first job as project engineer, he started working as a training manager at DELO in 2006. There he finalized his Dissertation in the field of surface pretreatment. 14 years ago, he founded the training department at DELO and has been passing on his distinct knowledge in the field of adhesive bonding technology and surface treatment to any interested people since then.
