New materials are being introduced more widely in response to market demands for higher product performance, more diverse functionality, and the ability to achieve both weight reduction and increased strength.
As a result, challenges related to bonding and joining are becoming increasingly important across many manufacturing industries. In the past, volatile organic compounds (VOC) have often been used as precursors in surface pretreatment processes. However, they do not necessarily contribute directly to the mechanism for maintaining bond strength, and they also present a number of disadvantages in terms of cost and process management. In addition, regulations are becoming stricter due to concerns about their effects on people and the environment.
PlasmaPlus® coating technology is a nano-coating technology based on Plasmatreat’s atmospheric-pressure plasma technology Openair-Plasma®, which is already widely used in a broad range of bonding applications. It forms thin functional layers on the surfaces of plastics, glass, metals, and many other materials. It has already been introduced in various industrial applications as a surface coating technology for difficult-to-bond materials, as well as for pretreatment processes aimed at achieving higher bond strength and improved weather resistance.
Because this technology does not require curing or drying steps, it also enables inline integration and automation, allowing the next process step, such as bonding or joining, to follow immediately after surface treatment. In addition, it can help reduce the large amount of energy otherwise required for drying.
In this PlasmaTalk webinar, we will introduce PlasmaPlus® and explain the many benefits that can be achieved by adopting PlasmaPlus® nano-coatings, together with actual application examples. If you work with difficult-to-bond materials or are looking for high-strength bonding solutions, we encourage you to join this webinar.
This webinar is scheduled to run for approximately 50 minutes, including the Q&A session. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the webinar in advance, please contact us here.
