Improved ink adhesion and outstanding print quality with pad printing
906
Pad printing is typically used to print lettering, inscriptions and decorative elements with small, fine motifs. Like the printing process itself, Openair-Plasma® pretreatment can be used on a wide variety of materials, surfaces and shapes.
The microfine cleaning action and strong activation power of Openair-Plasma® ensures stable adhesion and a high-quality printed image even with complex shapes and materials that are difficult to print. Plasmatreat’s patented rotary nozzle technology ensures the reliable, homogenous wetting of flat as well as convex and concave surfaces, even with irregular features and recesses, with printing inks.
Tampoprint AG was entrusted with the assignment of developing and building fully-automated pad printing for 5-color printing (screen illustration printing) on mint boxes, with an hourly output of 1800 units.
Since 1999, the polypropylene handles of hand-held blenders have been pretreated with atmospheric plasma systems from Plasmatreat before pad printing at the BSH plant in Slovenia. This process ensures a flawless print image on high-gloss plastic that would otherwise make printing difficult.
These days, it is not just the fragrance that counts when purchasing a perfume; often the packaging is at least as important. At HEINZ-GLAS GmbH, the luxurious glass bottles of the finer brands are treated with Openair-Plasma® before printing.
