In this practical training course, participants gain a concise overview of the basics of plasma technology and its application in atmospheric pressure plasma CVD.

The theoretical part covers the physical fundamentals of plasma, reaction mechanisms, coating systems, and typical areas of application such as corrosion protection and adhesion promotion. Participants also learn about process control, parameter settings, and methods for coating analysis.

In the practical part, participants operate the PlasmaPlus® system themselves, carry out setup and coating tests, and can directly observe the effect of plasma on their own or provided components. This allows them to experience the transfer from theory to application in a practical way.

Seminar contents

  • Introduction to plasma technology and fundamentals of the APPJ-CVD process
  • Understanding of layer structure, reaction mechanisms, and applications
  • Confident handling of process parameters
  • Overview of methods for layer analysis and quality assessment, including the use of AntiCorr® test fluids for quick and reliable indication of the success of a coating against corrosion

Stephanie Schweiger

Team Leader Application Technology

After studying nanoscaled engineering, Stephanie Schweiger began her professional career as a research engineer for electrochemical coating applications in the field of industrial connectors. Her passion for the production and analysis of thin films in the nanometer range especially for corrosion protection applications led her to Plasmatreat and the PlasmaPlus® technology. After joining the company, she is now team leader of the application technology department. With her many years of experience in the application of plasma technology, she has acquired a comprehensive understanding of surfaces and their properties. This knowledge enables her to develop plasma surface treatments that are precisely tailored to the respective application.
