In today’s world, the demand for advanced materials with tunable properties and reliable, long-lasting performance has become mission critical for a variety of industries. Common materials such as ceramics, plastics and metals can be treated by various surface methods such as grit blasting, solvent cleaning, or wet chemical processing to modify their properties and to promote new functionalities. Plasma processing is an attractive alternative as a sustainable, dry method that can be used for inline manufacturing.

In this PlasmaTalk, Dr. Dhia Ben Salem, Team Leader Research of the Plasmatreat R&D group in Germany, and Dr. Daphne Pappas, R&D Manager of Plasmatreat USA, will present innovative applications of Plasmatreat’s Openair-Plasma® and PlasmaPlus® technologies used for the cleaning, functionalization of surfaces and thin film deposition on engineering materials.

Specifically, an overview of innovative Openair-Plasma® processes and PlasmaPlus® coatings including the deposition of adhesion promoting, anti-corrosion, anti-ice or friction reduction coatings will be presented.

By participating in this webinar, you will get a comprehensive insight into the Plasmatreat know-how from the presentation of research projects conducted at renowned research institutes worldwide. Advanced characterization of the surfaces and of the deposited coatings will be presented to highlight the innovative field of application and the vast application bandwidth of atmospheric pressure plasma systems.

After participating in this PlasmaTalk you will know more about:

  •     Current developments in the field of applied plasma research
  •     Presentation of new functional PlasmaPlus® nano-coatings
  •     New fields of application: electronics, biomedical, renewable energy, aerospace
  •     Pathways to collaborate with Plasmatreat

This no-charge PlasmaTalk is aimed at research, development and quality control personnel as well as designers, process engineers, project managers and operators of production equipment in industrial processes.

The PlasmaTalk will run for appr. 40 - 60 min. including FAQs. If you have a specific problem or question, please send it in advance to academy@plasmatreat.com and we will be happy to include it into the program.
