5th D.u.h. Group Charity Spinning Marathon in Bielefeld
Bielefeld, April 2026 – When sports meet the heart, something special happens: The 24-hour Charity Spinning Marathon is entering its fifth year and, once again this year, brings together exercise, community, and social engagement to benefit the Bethel Children’s and Youth Hospice.
The event is organized by the Plasmatreat – d.u.h. Group team in collaboration with the Bielefeld cycling community “Cycling Bats.” The goal is to cover as many kilometers as possible within 24 hours, thereby generating awareness and donations for a good cause.
A special highlight this year is the new 24-Hour Challenge: We are looking for one person who will spend the entire 24 hours on the bike without interruption (with a maximum of 10-minute breaks per hour for food and changing clothes). This campaign is supported by the d.u.h. Group, which, under the patronage of the Hindrichs family, has pledged a donation of 2,000 euros if the challenge is successfully completed. With Bastian Harfmann from the Cycling Bats, a highly motivated participant has already stepped forward to take on this extraordinary challenge.
We are still looking for additional donation partners for this challenge. At the same time, even smaller contributions help—every kilometer ridden by the athletes counts and directly supports the important work of the Bethel Children’s and Youth Hospice and the SAPV team. Donations can be made via the Betterplace.org platform under the keyword: “Team Plasmatreat – d.u.h. Group.”

The marathon winds through Bielefeld in several stages, connecting different places and people along the way:
The race starts at Active Sportshop Bielefeld, where the first kilometers will be logged until 8:00 p.m.. New this year: In addition to cycling, running kilometers between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. also count. The route then continues to Fitness First, which is once again providing spinning bikes, making participation possible especially for recreational cyclists.
During the night, Club Stereo creates a special atmosphere: Music, lights, and energy carry the participants through the night, creating a unique experience that blends sport and event.
Early in the morning, the marathon finally reaches the Bethel Children’s and Youth Hospice, where an open house begins at 11:00 a.m. This segment is considered an emotional highlight: The children and their families become part of the action, turning the athletes into tangible role models.
“It’s impressive to see every year anew just how much enthusiasm and solidarity this event generates,” says David Buske, organizer and team manager of the women’s Bundesliga team Plasmatreat – d.u.h. Group. “Our goal is not only to raise funds, but also to draw attention to the important work of the children’s and youth hospice.”
