How does atmospheric plasma actually form, and why does the choice of process gas change what happens on your surface? In this technical webinar, we connect the underlying plasma physics with measurable surface effects and industrial results.

You will learn how different ionization gases influence reactive species and how this directly impacts adhesion, coating performance, and long-term process stability. We also show practical methods to evaluate plasma-treated surfaces using contact angle measurement and test inks, including how solvents and ink types can change the interpretation.

A key part of the session is a live laboratory demonstration. We treat multiple materials with different process gases and visualize the effects in real time. Finally, we explain how Plasmatreat control technology supports consistent outcomes through controlled power regulation and process monitoring.

What you will learn

  • How atmospheric plasma is generated and which parameters matter in practice
  • How different process gases change plasma chemistry and surface activation
  • How to assess Plasma treatment results using contact angle measurement and test inks
  • Typical pitfalls: solvent effects, ink types, color codes, and reproducibility
  • What “stable results” require in an industrial setting: monitoring and control

Who should attend

Engineers, process owners, R&D, quality, and production teams working with bonding, coating, printing, sealing, or cleaning processes where surface condition drives performance.

For you, this means you can make informed decisions for stable, scalable, and economical surface processes—with less risk, less chemical use, and greater process control.

Why this PlasmaTalk
You experience atmospheric pressure plasma where it is created: in the laboratory, in live trials, under real conditions. Plasmatreat has been developing Openair Plasma® and PlasmaPlus® technologies for industrial applications since 1995 – practical, inline-compatible, and established worldwide. This expertise makes PlasmaTalk particularly valuable for anyone who wants to design their processes to be precise and reproducible.

Team Leader Application Technology

After studying nanoscaled engineering, Stephanie Schweiger began her professional career as a research engineer for electrochemical coating applications in the field of industrial connectors. Her passion for the production and analysis of thin films in the nanometer range especially for corrosion protection applications led her to Plasmatreat and the PlasmaPlus® technology. After joining the company, she is now team leader of the application technology department. With her many years of experience in the application of plasma technology, she has acquired a comprehensive understanding of surfaces and their properties. This knowledge enables her to develop plasma surface treatments that are precisely tailored to the respective application.
